Elaine & Luca were an amazing couple to work for. You could tell how in love they were just by being around them. With Elaine being English and Luca from Argentina, the blend of two cultures made the day truly memorable and a little challenging from a language point of view for some non-English speakers. It gave my basic Spanish a run for its money! The wedding ceremony was in the beautiful St Mark’s Church in Clapham, London, an intimate venue that tested my photography skills and the priest was a blast!
The light in the church was a little challenging, but St Mark is was one of those great places where there are lots of side cubby holes and aisles for me to discreetly move around to get the best angles. I find that if a photographer is given more freedom they actually go about even more unnoticed, moving around slower and quieter, and capturing the moments we might not be able to usually.
The reception venue was truly breath-taking and looked like something out of 18th century France. I’d have never expected to see such a place in the middle of Central London! It was the Le Gothique, Clapham, set inside the majestic Royal Victoria Patriotic Building which has some amazing artwork and history, including a few ghost stories! It stands out as one of the most spectacular buildings in which I’ve covered a wedding and I look forward to going back there again. If even just for me!
The dance afterwards was amazing and the two cultures really showed. The South American Latin twist was such a fresh injection I haven’t seen in a wedding for a while. Thank you Elaine & Luca for letting me be a part of your wedding and all the best with your future together.
