Niclola & Gavin’s wedding brought back lots of old memories. I went to University in Hull and I was looking to forward to returning back up North for the ceremony and the reception.
Untypical of the North, the weather was looking great and Gavin (prepped with his wedding survival box given to him by Nicola) was ready to take on the day. Parents, family and friends all came over and the job of getting suited and booted began with some great banter! From there we made our way to St Mark’s Church for the ceremony, a lovely church situated right in the middle of Laceby village. It was the perfect venue, and Nicola’s arrival in a vintage car was quite an entrance!
After the ceremony and confetti showering we made our way over the Humber Bridge to the Hallmark Hotel in Hessle for the reception. The views were quite panoramic with glorious vantage of the bridge and the Humber Estuary. America is very close to Nicola & Gavin’s heart, and the whole reception was themed red, white & blue. I certainly didn’t mind some of the great American style BBQ! Their first dance was the beautiful “You are the best thing” by Ray Lamontagne.
The night was finished off with fireworks on the field outside, with the lights of the Humber Bridge providing a lovely backdrop.
